I Messed up my Wrist from Drawing too much

A hand holding an Apple Pencil

This is something everyone comes to realize as you get older...and I recognize that being in my late twenties is not what a lot of people consider "old," but still, I feel I've passed a tipping point where random aches, bruises, twinges all have a bit more of a feeling of doom attached to them. The past month or so I've been dealing with the latest such occurrence, a sharp, spreading pain down my wrist from the base of my palm to about halfway down my elbow.

Life in Quarantine

A hand holds a copy of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Well what a year 2020 has become. I was re-reading my Year in Review post of 2019, and at the very end I wrote a sweet little wrap up of how I was looking forward to 2020, blissfully unaware of what was coming down the pipeline.

Greyhound Skateboarding Animation Process

A greyhound skateboards past a book store

To make this illustrated scene, I followed Abbey Lossing's Skillshare tutorial. I think the tutorial is a good project-based way to learn After Effects, but I would say maybe it would be better as a second or third project, rather than your first time opening the program.

An illustration of a girl in winter outerwear with her greyhound

I've been working hard on my account for the past year since I decided I wanted to focus my career on illustration, and to see it grow in this way has been really validating, especially since I can't work on my business in a lot of ways while I wait for my green card.

Interviewed by an Art Student

I've been asked a few times by students in school for art and design to answer some questions for their assignments. This is super flattering and makes me feel like a for real legitimate illustrator (byyyye imposter syndrome!). Anyways, the most recent request was from a girl in Chile and I thought I'd share my answers here in case others were wondering (probably not but oh well here it is).
